free verbal description workshop, designed for guests who are blind or have low vision, of Valeria Divinorum’s new work, Locus Amoenus: Into the 4th Dimension, an interactive glass-light immersive art installation at Lincoln Center’s Griffin Sidewalk Studio at David Geffen Hall
Composed of five different installations of stained-glass sculptural objects, this exhibition explores the intangible properties of light and shadows, finding new forms relating to spatial interaction to create one single sculpture. Divinorum’s work is inspired by the shared symbolic language decoding information that we all have in our biological structure and memory, highlighting the beauty of the basic coincidences of something common. Led by educator Laura Sloan and artist Valeria Divinorum, this workshop will incorporate verbal description, touch objects, and discussion.
Live acoustic music was provided by Sergio Cohen Salama.
